Biography
Dina Titus has served as the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 1st congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, she succeeded Shelley Berkley, who vacated the seat to run for the U.S. Senate. Titus represents a district centered on Las Vegas.
Before her current tenure, Titus served in the Nevada State Senate from 1988 to 2008, including a stint as minority leader, and represented Nevada's 3rd congressional district for one term from 2009 to 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, a master's degree from the University of Georgia, and a Ph.D. in political science from Florida State University. Prior to entering politics full-time, she worked as a professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
