Biography
Tim Hughes serves as a member of the Nevada State Board of Education representing District 4, a position he assumed in 2025 following the departure of Rene Cantu. The board operates on a nonpartisan basis, and Hughes's appointment continues his involvement in state education governance after previously representing District 1 on the same body from 2021 to 2025.
Before his board service, Hughes built a career as a nonprofit executive. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and completed graduate studies at both California State University, East Bay and Johns Hopkins University. He has no recorded military service.
